Research

Arvind's research interests cover the broad areas of emerging scalable network architectures (such as NFVs), 5G mobile networking, content distribution networks (CDNs) and network data science. More specifically, his research involves tackling challenges in understanding and improving the performance of emerging 5G networks and developing novel techniques based on network (and edge) function virtualization to support future 5G network architectures and services. Last but not the least, another dimension of Arvind's research is to harness the power of data to address challenges in computer networks (e.g. content caching, improving commercial 5G application's QoE) using applied machine and deep learning. He is advised by Professor Zhi-Li Zhang and Associate Professor Feng Qian.

This project has won many international awards, gained appreciations from eminent citizens and received media coverage.

    Member of Sana-VIT technical team that collaborated with members of Sana Mobile, a volunteer research group at CSAIL, Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), Cambridge, USA, in establishing an emergency medical referral system for maternal and new born health in 3 pilot hospitals in Mumbai.
