A common misconception of embedded systems is that they are very small.
In fact there are many embedded-type applications that use very large and
very powerful computer systems.  Examples of these include radar systems and
flight simulators.
    In this talk I will discuss many of the different hardware and software
solutions that have been found to help power these systems.  I will also
show how designers have been able to achieve these systems starting with and
using common components.
