My research interests fall into the general area of networking and multimedia system. Previously, I have been working on 1) bandwidth monitoring problem in adaptive multimedia delivery; 2) resilient intra-domain routing protocol in Internet; 3) more scalable location management scheme in supporting for location based routing in ad-hoc networks; and 4) object look-up protocol in P2P networks.
Before coming to the States, I had received a BS degree in Information Science from Fudan University, China; and a MSc degree in Computer Science from the University of Alberta, Canada. My supervisor in the master program is Prof. Anup Basu. I have also worked for several years in Hong Kong and Shanghai, for the HSBC Financial Group. I was a system programmer and analyst, writing programs (and patches) on various platforms, including IBM AS/400 (known as iSeries now), PC LAN, and Unix (HP-UX).
