viewer - stereo pair viewer

viewer, (a simple stereo image pair viewer and aligner) is straightforward to setup and install. after downloading and unpacking the tarball simply typing './configure', 'make', and 'make install' will build and install viewer.

viewer-0.7.x incorporates new features such as zooming in via 'z', zooming out via 'x', dragging the images with the mouse, forcing a specified geometry, viewing mono files, and a thumbnail viewfinder to aid in navigating large images. Unlike the pre-release version, zooming is now done 'on the fly'. this slows things down a bit when moving around in a zoomed image, but it means much lower memory requirements, so it is possible to zoom in and out even on very large images. Documentation has been improved and now includes a man page. The build process has also been improved and it should work more seemlessly on more architectures. if you have any problems, please let me know.

viewer-0.7.3 contains multi-file support for a 'slideshow' ability. this is based on work done by Nathan Weeks of the EROS Data Center (thanks Nathan!). There are a bunch of new command line options to make things a bit more readable if viewer is used in scripts. the thumbnail can be turned off. fixed a nasty bug that made the alignment mode really broken (images were cropped completely wrong). see the ChangeLog for complete details.

viewer-0.8.0 include several bugfixes as well as new features including OpenGL "clone mode"/"quad buffer stereo" support, showing thumbnail at all zoom factors, multifile import, improved alignment options, visual indications of zoom factor, automatic slideshow mode, windows build support, better OSX support, rpm builds, WallView compatibility, and much more. see the ChangeLog for complete details of the changes and README for instructions for builds on various operating systems and usage of the new functions. i've also added an archive with a few small pairs for test purposes.

current plans for viewer-0.9.0 include other image format support and possibly 'image tiling' to lower memory requirements. i'm also considering adding support for a config file as there are getting to be alot of command line options. this might include customizing the location of the thumbnail and zoom percentage. i'm maintaining things in a private subversion repository, so i may make this public. other comments or suggestions are always welcome.
