Hello World!

I am Sabirat Rubya. I am a second year PhD student at the Department of Computer Science and Engineering of University of Minnesota, Twin Cities. I belong to a loving family of Bangladesh, a country full of natural beauty located in South-east Asia. I have completed my B.Sc. Engineering in Computer Science and Engineering from Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology in March, 2012. I have served the same department as a part time teacher after graduation. I have also worked as a Lecturer in the department of Computer Science and Engineering in the United International University

Research Interests:

My research area is Human Computer Interaction, particularly Social Computing. I am working as a Graduate Research Assistant under the supervision of Dr Lana Yarosh at GroupLens.

  • October 19-21, 2016: I attended Grace Hopper Celebration of Women in Computing (GHC 2016) in Houston, Texas as a Hopper (Student Volunteer)

  • September 8, 2015: I started school as a PhD student
  • September 7, 2015: I moved to Minneapolis, Minnesota
  • February 20, 2015: I got PhD offer with TA and RAship from University of Minnesota, Twin Cities, starting from Fall 2015
  • January 15, 2015: I started working as a national trainer of mobile application development under the Ministry of ICT, Bangladesh. [News Link]
