Relevant/ Additional Coursework * Signals and Systems * Probability and Stochastic Processes * Operating Systems (Theory and Lab) * Computer Architecture (basic and advanced) * Distributed Operating Systems * Computer Networks(Theory and Lab) * Mobile Computing * Object Oriented NEtwork Programmin at IIT, Madras Projects: * Application specific performance comparison of MANET routing protocols: A performance comparison of mobile ad hoc network routing protocols was performed. Various applications like FTP, TELNET, HTTP and CBR were maintained in the application layer. An implementation of our protocol SAFAR in GloMoSim was developed. Its performance was compared to various proactive, reactive and hybrid protocols. * SAFARsim - multithreaded Manet simulator. Created a simulator to study the performance of SAFAR. The simulator is unique in that it represents each mobile node as a separate thread communicating via shared memory with appropriate functions to simulate physical layer packet loss. * easyHTTP - A simple implementation of HTTP in Linux using C++. * JPEG Vs JPEG2000 - A comparison of the two compression standards and their performance using MATLAB and Adobe Photoshop. The compression was compared at various ratios and color depths and results were drawn Technical Proficiency: * Operating Systems Windows, Linux, Unix, Mac Programming Languages C++ (with STL), JAVA, C, XML, Visual Basic,ORACLE PL/SQL,x86,8085 Assembly. * Web Skills: HTML/DHTML/Javascript, ASP, XML, PHP * Simulators: GlomoSim, NS-2 * Other Tools: MATLAB, Latex, MS Office
