Film
They say 'there is no accounting for taste.' A couple of mafia films not withstanding, I appear to have demonstrably bad taste in movies. Whereas my literary preferences would be considered altogether main stream, as I compiled the below list of some of my favorites films I consistently found only two of them (The Godfather and GoodFellas) on any of the ubiquitous lists of all-time greats (see links on left). I know I like what I like, I just don't know why I like 'em. Perhaps my measure of big-screen greatness has to do with a movies' ability to sweep me into the story and dump me out after the credits (or later). Some of my other all time favorites include: The Big Lebowski, The Big Chill, Wonder Boys, A River Runs Through It, The Natural, Dream a Little Dream, Class Action, Donnie Brasco, The Bodyguard, Running on Empty, Dead Poet's Society, Good Will Hunting, Chariots of Fire, Same Time Next Year, Mr. Destiny, Pi, Antitrust, For Love of the Game, Three Days of The Condor, Pirates of Silicon Valley, Field of Dreams, Flashback, Meet Joe Black, The Breakfast Club, Made In Heaven and Groundhog Day.
