My group works on developing bioinformatics tools that support the work of life science colleagues. With biochemist Larry Wackett, we have developed the University of Minnesota Biocatalysis/Biodegradation Database (http://umbbd.ahc.umn.edu/). We use that database to develop a tool to predict biodegradation pathways (http://umbbd.ahc.umn.edu/predict/). We also, with developmental biologists Stephen Ekker and Scott Fahrenkrug, are developing the Vertebrate Secretome and CTT-ome Database (http://www.secretomes.umn.edu/). We use this database to select targets for vertebrate functional genomics.
