Miscellaneous

  • http://cmu.edu/uls/journeys/ Randy Pausch passed away on 25 July 2008
An amazing lecture by Prof. Randy Pausch of CMU: "Really Achieving Your Childhood Dreams", given on 9/20/2007. He ends with a wonderful twist.
Randy had given a talk the U of Minnesota in around year 2000. I was one of the attendees and he had given us crayons, told us to close our eyes and smell them. He then said "if that doesn't bring your childhood back, then I don't know what will". I have attended many many talks since then but there isn't any other that I can quote from like this one. I still have the crayon.
