Mellow Orange

Stuck in a poetry museum
with the coming of the Millennium.
In the middle of California, treading snow
with the point of my steel toe.

Blurry white slush and clear black text
forming skewed boxes intermixed.
As mellow as the Orange
glowing from the Miles' discs and lounge.

Swinging into a new year step by step.
Triple step, triple step, rocking into the next step.

Dec. 20, 1999, PARC Office
