My Father

In one hand, a writing pad.
Writing words of comparative wisdom.
On the other, a scratch pad.
Scratching meditations of a young child.

The spine of a scholar,
and the strength of a character.
The collar of a role model
sculpturing a life with pixels.

He is a vessel in high sea.
Firmly constant and mindful.
Feet planted, he wrestles.
These are qualities he bestows

with a smile.
