Why I don’t like Hillary

What’s wrong with Hillary Clinton? Mark Penn, that’s what’s wrong with her.

“He [Mark Penn] worked closely with the Democratic Leadership Council, and more generally with the so-called “national security” Democrats. He has a long record as a friend of Israel and as an advocate of regime change in Iraq. He helped to run Joe Lieberman’s campaign in 2004.” From The Economist

I can only assume Mark Penn believes in Senator Lieberman’s judgment–and Lieberman has his eyes on Iran.

“Clinton did not read the 90-page, classified National Intelligence Estimate on Iraq, according to “Her Way: The Hopes and Ambitions of Hillary Rodham Clinton.” From Cnn.com.

Yes, the NIE document was misleading–that’s not the point. The point is that I don’t want someone in charge of the country who did not even bother to read 90 pages of what is ostensibly the best information available on a decision to go to war. I want a president who plays heads-up. One who might think long and hard before starting an armed conflict in the most tense region on the planet.

And you know what kills me? I might have to vote for her.

I’m still holding out hope that I’ll be able to vote non-major party or write in Wes Clark with a clear conscience if Hill goes all the way.

The thing that I dislike most about Hillary is that through all her posturing, positioning, and politicking, I get the feeling that she cares about nothing except her own self-advancement. Even with people like W, the Brain, and the Devil, it feels like they’re about something bigger than themselves. If Hillary were the Big Woman on Capitol Hill and one of her crew got caught by the law doing Hillary’s dirt, would she commute that person’s sentence, just because it was the right thing to do?
