ACM SIGMETRICS 2009 Industrial Information Session

June 17

Seattle, WA, USA

http://www.cs.umn.edu/~chandra/sigmetrics09-ind-info-session.html

The Industrial Information Session aims at providing a communication channel between industrial researchers and academics (students and faculty) to foster opportunities for exchange of ideas, collaboration, and future employment. Industrial labs can use this session to highlight their cutting-edge work relevant to the Sigmetrics community, receive academic input, and attract bright students who actively work in the field. Students and faculty can learn more about the work going on at industrial labs, identify topics of mutual interest, and build bridges for collaboration, funding and employment opportunities.

The Industrial Information Session will start with short presentations given by participating industrial labs on their general research area and work on topics of interest to the Sigmetrics community. Participants are encouraged to mingle after the presentations to obtain further information and discuss possible collaboration and employment opportunities. Detailed information about the presentations will be posted on the conference Website. Please note that the session is not meant to be a job fair - students should not expect the industrial participants to collect resumes or provide detailed job application information.

Participating Industrial Labs

ACM SIGMETRICS 2009 invites industrial labs to participate in the Industrial Information Session.  To participate in the session, please send a subscription request by email to Abhishek Chandra <chandra at cs dot umn dot edu> with the subject line “ACM SIGMETRICS 2009 Industral Information Session Subscription” before the subscription deadline. The email should include the name(s) and contact information for the lab representative(s) who may be presenting at the session, or can act as contact persons for coordinating the lab's participation at the session. As there would be a limited number of slots available for presentations, we would be able to accomodate only a limited number of subscriptions.
