Assignment 4 will be due at the beginning of lecture on Monday, April 5 instead of Friday, April 2. However, if you turn it in on the Friday when it was originally due, we will grade it and return it to you before the midterm. We cannot guarantee that assignments turned in on Monday will be graded before the midterm.

The first midterm will be open textbook and you will be allowed to have an 8-1/2 x 11 "crib sheet." No calculators will be allowed.
Homeworks turned in after the class period when they are due will be considered late (unless there are extenuating health or family issues). This is clearly stated on the course materials handed out on the first day of class. Homeworks turned in at other times and places (i.e. sliding them under an office doorway) will be considered late.
The grades for assignment 1 are available online. To see information about scores for this assignment click here.
The homework that was originally due Thursday at recitation will now be due Friday at class.
When turning in assignment 1 (as well as all future assignments), you will need to do two things.
A note about programming in this course: If you have little or no programming experience, we ask that you contact either Brendon, Ivan, or Professor Meyer for help in this area. For information on their office hours, check the Instructor information page.
In order to receive a magic number to register for 2031 or to change recitation sections you must contact Chris Johnson in the Computer Science front office. You can either go there in person, call her on the phone (625-4002), or email her (email: cjohnson). She will check your name against the list that she was given by Professor Meyer. She will not contact you via email because she doesn't have the email addresses for students on the waiting list.
The matlab example that Ivan did in recitation is on the matlab page. There is also information on setting up matlab in the Sollaris enviornment. The description given on this page for setting up matlab is slightly different than the one Ivan described, but either way should work.
Gary's Office Hours for Thursday (1/22) are cancelled.
