Louai Alarabi is a graduate student in the Computer Science and Engineering Department at the University of Minnesota.
He is a member of the Data Management Lab under Prof. Mohamed Mokbel.
He received his B.SC at Umm Al-Qura University in Computer Science.
Louai worked as software engineer for two years in industry at Advanced Electronic Company Ltd.
Louai also worked as research assistance at the KACST GIS Technology Innovation Center for 7 months.
His research interest lies in the board area of databases and data management systems. His current research focus on managing big spatio-temporal data. His research work has been selected among best papers award in SSTD 2017. He has been selected among a finalist for ACM SIGMOD research competition 2017. His research has been recognized by the "Best Poster Award at the 2014 U-Spatial Symposium" for TAREEG project which founded in collaboration with the KACST GIS Technology Innovation Center, at Umm Al-Qura University in Saudi Arabia. He has also received a full scholarship from Umm Al-Qura University for his endeavour toward Ph.D.
Louai has also worked in several research projects while being at Minnesota including ,ST-Hadoop, MNTG , TAREEG , and TAGHREED.
