My interest lies within the broad area of Artficial Intelligence and having a machine create meaning and consequently prediction from otherwise random data. My current thesis research and interest pertains to the application of such knowdge to the domains of human visual percpetion and computer vision. The Human visual system constitutes one of the most complex pattern recognition systems known; it is estimated that over half the neuronal processing in the brain is dedicated to it. My current research is twofold: to understand the brain's mechanism for handling uncertainty when it views ambiguous images; and developing computational models for such behavior.
